PURPOSE:To prevent a surface of an image receiving layer from being roughened by heat by a method wherein in a thermal transfer image receiving sheet provided with the image receiving layer made of at least two layers, i.e., an image receiving innermost layer and an image receiving outermost layer, on one surface of a substrate sheet, the image receiving innermost layer is crosslinked by a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer image receiving sheet is provided with an image receiving layer made of at least two layers, i.e., an image receiving innermost layer and an image receiving outermost layer, on one surface of a substrate sheet. At this time, the image receiving innermost layer is crosslinked by a curing agent. The coating weight of the image receiving outermost layer is set to 1.5g/m<2> or less. At least one kind of chelating agents or alcoholates separately shown by a general formula is incorporated in the curing agent to be loaded in the image receiving innermost layer. In the formula, M represents metal; R represents alkyl group, hydrogen atom, or the like; m + n = 3 or 4; and X represents glycol or the like. In this manner, the surface of the image receiving layer is prevented from being roughened by heat. A high-density and-sensitivity thermal transfer image receiving sheet is obtained. |
