PURPOSE:To display the title of a mounted external font data storage medium, as needed without providing data for displaying the title of a floppy disk inside a device. CONSTITUTION:When the floppy disk 10 is first set in a floppy disk driving device 7, a CPU 1 reads the ID and the title of the floppy disk, preserves them in a RAM 3, reads font data from the same floppy disk 10, stores them in an external font data storage area 32 and prints a document from a printer 6 by using the external font data. When the floppy disk 10 is set in the driving device 7 for a second time and thereafter, the ID of the floppy disk 10 is read and compared with the ID in the RAM 3. When they are different, the error message data of a character pattern area 22 and the title in the RAM 3 are sent to an LCD 5 and an error message is displayed. |
