PURPOSE:To enable the recording and reproducing under good condition by providing a dirt detecting function of an optical head and automatically removing dirt. CONSTITUTION:Data from an A/D converter circuit 33 and initial data stored in a storage circuit 35 are compared with each other by a comparator circuit 36, and a result is sent to a discriminating circuit 37. Thus, dirt of a lens of the optical head 4 is discriminated by the circuit 37 Upon discrimination of dirt, a brush driving motor 18 is driven via a brush motor control circuit 39 and a brushing motor driving circuit 17, and a brush 10 of a brushing mechanism part 19 is rotated to remove the dirt on the lens, so as to enable the normal recording and reproducing. Prior to rotating the motor 18, a mirror housing motor 1 is driven to house a mirror 3 into a housing part 2 by the circuit 39 via a mirror housing motor control circuit 38 and a mirror housing motor driving circuit 7. Then, after a given period of time by a timer 1, the mirror 3 is moved above the head by a signal from the circuit 7. |
