PRESS ROLL WITH UNENGAGING TYPE HOLE

PURPOSE: To prevent the loosening and fall-off of an insert in an insertless perforated mill roll which grinds a fluid-containing material e.g. sugar cane or the like and extracts fluid. CONSTITUTION: Many number of fluid channel strings 20 are incorporated in a roll body 10, each fluid channel string 20 is provided with one hollow discharging passage 30 and is partitioned by a discharging passage wall 32, and many number of inflow passage members 40 are fixedly secured on the wall. The roll body 10 is formed toy casting a kind of cast iron or steel or the like to enclose the fluid channel strings 20, and a central hole 80 for housing a roll shaft is located at the center of the roll body. Each fluid channel string 20 is provided with at least one nearly radially extending inflow passage 50 which allows communication between the outer periphery 70 of the mill body and the discharging passage 30. Since the inflow passage members 40 are cast within the roll body, the insert fall-off problems encountered in the well-known perforated mill roils are eliminated.
