The facsimile system has an auto-responses telephone connected to the same line with the facsimile. The facsimile system includes a first relay switch (1) connected to the telephone line (13), an amplifier (3) for amplifying I/O signals, a modulator/demodulator (4) for modulating and demodulating I/O signals, a hook-off detector (6) for detecting hook-off state of a telephone, an internal telephone (12) connected to the telephone terminal of the first relay switch, an I/O buffer (7) for buffering output signal of a ring detector (5) and the hook-off detector (6), a CPU (8) for converting response mode, an operator (9) for setting data by an operator, a second relay (10) connected to telephone lines, and an autoresponse telephone (11) connected to telephone lines through a relay (10).
