<p>PURPOSE: To provide an illuminator for a computer image pickup/optical scanner for uniformly illuminating some surface. CONSTITUTION: The illuminator for uniformly illuminating a surface with data on a code or a character/number format includes a face diffusion light source 50 fixed inside of a light shielding canopy 20. The face diffusion light source is provided with at least one electroluminescese panel 52. The light shielding canopy shuts off external light and is provided with an inner surface reflecting light generated by the electroluminescense panel. During operation the light shielding panel perfectly covers the surface of an object, and uniform diffusion light discharged directly from the electroluminescense panel or reflected from the inner surface of the light shielding canopy illuminates the surface of the object.</p> |
