PURPOSE:To obtain a stem for an optical element array which can be used widely and also can be reused after the optical array has been removed by a method wherein the base of a stem is used as the common electrode for each channel, and a wiring board, which is electrically separated from the common electrode, is fixed to the base. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 5 is fixed to a submount 7 and electrically connected to the electrode of a junction plate 6. Then, the submount 7 is fixed to a base 1 with vertical stem. At this time, a groove 9 is provided to prevent the solder from coming into contact with the electrode pattern 3 formed on a wiring 2. Then, the junction plate 6 and the electrode pattern 3 are electrically connected by a wiring wire 8. As a result, the semiconductor laser array 5 and the electrode pattern 3 and a lead terminal 4, which was electrically connected in advance, can be electrically connected. On the other hand, the base 1 and the backside electrode of the semiconductor array 5 are electrically connected through the submount 7, and the base 1 functions as the common electrode of each channel of the semiconductor laser array 5. |
