Device for rheological measurement of the hot mechanical discontinuity point of a material, on the basis of an elongate sample (1) of the said material, characterised in that it comprises: (A) an inertia support (2) for a first end (1a) of the sample, having longitudinal flexibility less than the cold flexibility of the sample, (B) a means (6) for stressing the sample (1) in a transverse direction at a stress point (1c) lying on the side of the second end (1b), (C) a means (7) for changing the temperature of the sample in a thermal region (1d) located at the junction between the sample (1) and the inertia support (2), (D) a means (10) for measuring the temperature in the thermal zone (1d), (E) a means (8) for detecting a measured quantity depending on the stiffness of the sample (1) in response to the stress, at a so-called deformation point (3) on the sample (F), a means (9) for correlating the variations in the parameter measured in the deformation zone (3) as a function of the temperature variations measured (10) in the thermal zone (1d). <IMAGE>
