<p>PURPOSE:To expand an image with high efficiency by determining luminance information of other picture element than a feature point by an interpolation face determined by plural feature points in the vicinity at the time of expansion. CONSTITUTION:Outputs from image memories 4a, 4b are supplied to a contour line tracer 5. Subsequently, the controur line tracer 5 extracts a contour line in image information, executes a determining operation of a feature point, and information of the feature point of an image being an object of determined image information compression is given to an encoding/sending-out circuit 6. The encoding/sending-out circuit 6 converts the information to a code which can be transmitted efficiently and transmits it to a receiving/decoding circuit 8 through a transmission line 7. The receiving/decoding circuit 8 decodes an encoded signal transmitted thereto and gives it to a luminance function reproducing device 9. The luminance function reproducing device 9 restores a two-dimensional luminance function before compression by using the information of the feature point supplied thereto.</p> |
