PURPOSE: To provide a rapid desilvering method which is environmentally healthy for a high-iodide color photographic element. CONSTITUTION: This method of desilvering the developed color negative silver halide photographic element is composed of a stage for bleaching this photographic element with a peracid bleaching agent, then bringing this photographic element into contact with a fixing soln. contg. a thiosulfuric anion and sodium cation and having an ammonia ion content of <1.4M.
