The device comprises a first comparison circuit (2) coupled by a first input to the output of the scrambler (1) and by a second input to the output of the scrambler (1) via a first device (3) with a delay of the number of binary elements constituting an elementary pattern of the video signal, and a first circuit for bit-inversion (6) of the digital signals applied to the input of the scrambler (1) controlled by the comparison circuit (2) when the latter detects equality in the scrambled signals. Applications are to the transmission of digital video signals. <IMAGE>
