<p>PURPOSE:To provide a two-dimensional sub-band dividing and synthesizing device capable of executing high-speed processing without increasing hardware quantity. CONSTITUTION:This is a two-dimensional sub-band dividing device which divides an input picture signal x (m, n) into plural signals related to plural bands LL3 to HH1 by repeating sub-band dividing processing, and it is the two-dimensional sub-band dividing device characterized by being provided with a sub-band dividing processing means in which a part of the sub-band dividing processing, at least, is executed by dividing continuously the signal 12a related to a low frequency band between the signal 103a related to a high frequency band and the signal 104a related to the low frequency band in a vertical direction after dividing in band the input signal between the signal 13a related to the high frequency band and the signal 12a related to the low frequency band in the vertical direction by using filters 12, 13.</p> |
