PURPOSE:To prevent much current from flowing to the primary side of a step-up transformer as well, due to an effect resulting even from a case where rush current is made to flow at the start of lifting for instantaneously stabilizing a lamp. CONSTITUTION:Leading power factor improving capacitors 3 and 4 are respectively connected to the secondary side of a transformer 2 in parallel to the secondary winding thereof. Also, a choke coil 6 is connected in series to a lamp 1 and a switch S1 is provided within a bypass circuit 61 in parallel to the choke coil 6. When rush current is made to flow to the lamp 1 at the start of lighting, the switch S1 is closed and then opened in stable lighting state. At the same time, a switch S2 is closed at the start of lighting and then opened in the stable lighting state. |
