PURPOSE:To provide the optical fiber array with which the twists of a multiple fiber ribbon are not a problem by subjecting a part of the multiple fiber ribbon to a fiber cord sepn. in the part near the terminal of the multiple fiber ribbon. CONSTITUTION:The part 4 near the terminal of the multiple fiber ribbon 1 is subjected to the fiber cord sepn. from a fiber cord sepn. line 5 and a fiber cord sepn. line 6, etc., in the state that the part is held provided with a UV coating. A V-groove chip 3 is fixed by soldering to the part 2 where the coating at the terminal is removed in this state. The fiber cord sepn. part 4 provided with the UV coating may also be provided in succession to the part 2 where the coating is removed. As a result, the route length on the inner side and outer side of the multiple fiber ribbon 1 changes even if the twist of the multiple fiber ribbon 1 with the V-groove chip 3 arises. A surplus length is not generated in the part 2 at the terminal where the coating is removed even if the surplus length is generated in the fiber cord sepn. part 4, for example, the fiber cord sepn. line 5 held provided with the UV coating. |
