PURPOSE:To make a sense of sound image localization clear by obtaining a transfer characteristic for use of a signal conversion circuit based on measured physical and psychological HRTF, setting the characteristic to the signal conversion circuit, performing processing of a signal from a sound source and reproducing the signal by a transducer. CONSTITUTION:When a measurement use speaker SP is installed actually at an angle theta in a space with a front surface as 0 deg. (for example, 24 points at every 15 deg.), a couple of microphones ML, MR are used to measure a physical HRTF (head transfer function) and while the speaker SP is set to a position at which a sound image is felt actually in existence psychologically in a direction of an angle theta, a couple of the microphones ML, MR are used to measure a psychological HRTF at every critical width. A transfer characteristic (coefficient data of a cancel filter) for use of signal conversion circuit convolvers 1, 2 at each sound image localization position is obtained based on the measured HRTF. The obtained transfer characteristic is set to the signal conversion circuits 1, 2 and the signal from a sound source is processed and the processed signal is reproduced by dtransducers (speakers) SP1, SP2. |
