PURPOSE: To enhance the characteristics of a magnet including rare-earth elements, transition elements and boron by mixing and preparing two kinds of powder, each having a different composition and a grain diameter. CONSTITUTION: An RE-T-B system powder magnet, consisting of powder with a tetragonal system crystalline phase RE2 T<14> B (where RE is a rare-earth element and T is a transition element) and a secondary phase RE is prepared by mixing power A and power B. The powder A has a crystalline phase of the tetragonal system RE2 T<14> B, a composition of Co/Fe<8%, Al<=0.5%, Cu<=0.05%, and any of or a sum of at least one from among V, Nb, Hf, Mo, Cr, Ti, Zr, Ta, W is equal to or less than 4%, and a grain diameter of 3.5-5 μm. The powder B includes 52 to 70% of the RE that contains 40% of any or a plurality of elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu or more, 130×%RE ppm or more of hydrogen, 20-35% of Co, 0-20% of Fe, 0-0.2% of B and 0.1-4% of Al, and has a grain diameter of 2.5-3.5 μm. Thus, a superior magnet characteristic is obtained. |
