PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of an aligning device and ensure low cost by clamping a terminal with a terminal chuck, while the terminal being kept at a constant position with a positioning means. CONSTITUTION:An air chuck 23 is actuated, and a cable A is held with a chuck means 20. In this state, the bend of the cable A is rectified. Then, the end of a terminal B is clamped, thereby positioning the terminal B in a vertical direction. Thereafter, a terminal chuck 22 is closed to clamp the cable A. In this state, the terminal chuck 22 and a cable chuck 21 pick up the terminal B and the cable A. Then, the end of the terminal B is kept faced to the predetermined connector housing C and, then, the terminal B is inserted in the housing C. Furthermore, the chuck 21 is kept closer the housing C via a terminal insertion means 50, and the terminal B is inserted up to the predetermined position of the housing C. |
