<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a wire harness protector with high productivity while reducing the manufacturing cost by molding a hollow item through NC blow molding and then cutting the hollow molded item by means of a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:Fixing members, e.g. a clip 3 and a fixing stay 4, are inserted into a metal mold at a predetermined position thereof in an NC blow molding machine. Air is then fed through a predetermined air supply hole into a parison thus obtaining a substantially rectangular prism hollow molded item 1 being bent three-dimensionally according to a wire harness protector 2. The hollow molded item 1 is thin taken out and unnecessary parts are cut off through laser machining thus manufacturing a solid wire harness protector 2 having substantially U-shaped cross-section provided with a recess 8 for containing wire harness in the longitudinal direction. In other words, manufacturing cost is reduced while effectively taking advantage of NC blow molding and three- dimensional machining is facilitated thus ensuring high productivity.</p> |
