PURPOSE:To increase an application area on a phosphor layer and to enhance luminescent brightness value by providing a partition layer having projecting parts on a rear board and a thick film-printed phosphor layer on the projecting parts, the sides of the partition layer between the projecting parts and the parts except holes for discharging an anode. CONSTITUTION:A front board is completed by forming a cathode 2 on a front glass substrate 1, using nickel paste by thick film printing and by burning. An anode 22 is formed on a rear glass substrate 21, using nickel paste by thick film printing and is dried and burned. Next, thick film printing is applied to a partition layer 23, using dielectric paste with a pattern for superimposing partition layer projecting parts 23a on part 31a of a phosphor printing pattern 31. The partition layer 23 is dried. The above is repeated several times until a film thickness of about 2mum is obtained to form the partition layer 23 having the projecting parts 23a. Next, thick film printing is applied to a phosphor layer 24, using phosphor paste in such a way that part of the phosphor printing pattern 31 may superimpose on the projecting parts 23a. The phosphor layer 24 is dried and burned to complete a rear board. The front board is engaged with the rear board in such a way that the cathode 2 may cross with the anode 22 at right angles and the cathode 2 may superimpose on the exposed part of the anode 22. |
