A housing-like steering-column covering with an integrated device for operating functional switches via hand levers has a console which accommodates the switches, is arranged within the covering and on which the hand levers are held, the hand levers being guided, in elastic inserts, outwards through openings. Held insertably in each of the openings in the covering is an elastic insert with at least one moving recess for one or more hand levers.
