Ultrasonic motor having an improved stator

An ultrasonic motor having a stator, which is uniformly formed from a material which can convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. The stator contains a first part having two corresponding electrodes (20, 30) for applying a signal to the first part (1a), and a second part, which is uniformly constructed on the first part and has a region in the vicinity of the first part (1a) where the material is not present. The second part does not exist between the electrodes. A movable element (4) is in contact with the second part (1b) and is driven by travelling oscillation waves which are generated in the second part (1b) because of the signal applied to the electrodes (20, 30). <IMAGE>
