The mixing apparatus, which is basically designed as a mixing crosshead, has opposite the outlet opening (6) of the mixing chamber (1) in the circumferential surface of the outlet chamber (5) a relaxation or aftermixing chamber (8), in which a cleaning plunger (9) of the same cross-section can likewise be moved back and forth. The diameter of the mixing chamber (1) is smaller than that of the aftermixing chamber (8). This produces an apparatus whose chambers are very small, in order to process small shot weights and thus permit the production of correspondingly small articles from reactive resin, in particular polyurethane.
