To fasten ceramic plates (14, 15) on a plastics backing plate (10), an intermediate layer (12) made of paper with a uniform water-soluble adhesive coating (21) is bonded to the front side (11) of the backing plate. The tile arrangement can be removed from the backing plate (10) without any problems using aqueous solvent.
