In a process for the filling and closing of pot packs, the pots, after being filled and closed, are each tested for freedom from faults and faulty pots are replaced by fault-free ones, after the test operations the pots being inserted individually or in pot groups into trays and the full trays being transported further on a conveying path. At the same time, during the pot test, any pots recognised as faulty are introduced together with the fault-free pots into the tray and the full trays containing faulty pots are temporarily removed from the conveying path so that faulty pots can be extracted and replaced by fault-free pots and the full trays can thereafter be fed into the conveying path again.
