A self steering railway bogie to run on a railway track having two opposed r ails, the bogie having a pair of axle sets (4, 7) one at each end, each axle set having a pair of wheels (2, 3 and 5, 6) at opposite sides thereof, each wheel (2, 3, 5, 6) being, independently r otatable on an axle, the wheels of at least one axle set having contours on the peripher y thereof such that, on being displaced laterally with r espect to the other axle set and relative to the centre line of the track, one wheel w ill rise and the other will fall with respect to the whe els of said second axle set whereby said one axle set becomes tilted with respect to sai d second axle set, this tilt being applied to steer one or both axle sets.
