An aerator (2) for fittings, in particular taps, is held by a threaded bush (1) screwed on the threaded discharge end of the fitting. The aerator (2) may be upwardly inserted into the screwed threaded bush (1) and may also be exchanged from below. The aerator is automatically exchanged by the increased water pressure when a certain degree of soiling or calcification of the aerator (2) is exceeded. When that is not enough, the bush (1) may be provided with manually actuated accessories (27, 28) which mechanically act on the aerator (2) in order to extract it from the bush (1), or hook-like tools (49, 50) may be upwardly inserted into the bush (1) for pulling the aerator (2) out of the bush (1). |
