A drainage fitting which may be for example a rainwater outlet for use in flat roofs, roof gullies or guttering comprises a collecting hopper body component (20) into which water flows from a region to be drained, the body component (20) having an outlet spigot (18) for connection to an outlet pipe (24), and a vane (48) disposed in the water flow through the body component (20), to reduce or eliminate the formation of a vortex in the flow. The vane (48) is preferably mounted to a clamping ring (32) used to secure the edges of a roof covering (34) within the body component (20).
