The invention concerns a device for protecting a vehicle from theft and/or unauthorized use, and is provided with first means for triggering an alarm and second means which can separate the positive terminal of the vehicle battery from the electrical consumers that are essential for operation of the vehicle. The vehicle battery (2) is equipped with a jacket (3, 3') which cannot be removed by unauthorized persons, or if so only with great difficulty, and which surrounds not only the poles (2', 2") of the vehicle battery (2) and parts of the corresponding supply line, but also the first means (4, 8) and second means (6) for triggering the alarm and isolating the electrical consumers from the positive terminal of the vehicle battery (2). |
