The cylinder head (81) of an hydraulic lifting cylinder (39) comprises a pressure medium inlet (74) and a first pressure medium outlet (75) for connection to a pump (46) or to a power steering mechanism (40). These openings are preferably situated on opposite sides of the head. The head also comprises a second pressure medium outlet (83) and a pressure medium inlet (84) which open to the front side of the head. These openings are interconnected through the interior of a cover part (49a, 50a; 201; 250a) which is mounted removably on the front side of the head. Provided in the interior of the head is a flow divider (47) which divides the pressure medium flow coming from the inlet opening into a first and a second part flow which are conducted to the first and, respectively, the second outlet opening. The pressure medium returning into the inlet opening is supplied to a first control valve assembly (48) for the lifting cylinder. A second control valve assembly (49; 250) for an additional device can be provided, the cover part serving as valve housing and the remaining pressure medium lines to the inlet and the first outlet opening remaining unchanged.
