Pharmaceutical compounds of the formula in which n is 0, 1 or 2 and R<1> is attached at any of the positions 7, 8, 9 or 10, and each R<1> is halo, carboxy, trifluoromethyl, hydroxy, C1-4 alkyl, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 alkylthio, hydroxy-C1-4 alkyl, hydroxy-C1-4 alkoxy, nitrogen-containing heterocyclyl, nitro, trifluoromethoxy, -COOR<5> where R<5> is an ester group, -COR<6>, -CONR<6>R<7> or -NR<6>R<7> where R<6> and R<7> are each hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; R<2> is phenyl, naphthyl or heteroaryl selected from thienyl, pyridyl, benzothienyl, quinolinyl, benzofuranyl or benzimidazolyl, said phenyl, naphthyl and heteroaryl groups being optionally substituted, or R<2> is furanyl optionally substituted with C1-4 alkyl; R<3> is nitrile, carboxy, -COOR<8> where R<8> is an ester group, or -CONR<9>R<1><0> where R<9> and R<1><0> are each hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; and R<4> is -NR<1><1>R<1><2>, -NR<1><1>COR<1><2>, -N(COR<1><1>)2 or -N=CHOCH2R<1><1> where R<1><1> and R<1><2> are each hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl optionally substituted with carboxy, -N=CH-NR<1><3>R<1><4> where R<1><3> is hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl and R<1><4> is C1-4 alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted heteroaryl, where X is C2-4 alkylene, or -NHSO2R<1><5> where R<1><5> is C1-4 alkyl, trifluoromethyl or optionally substituted phenyl; and salts thereof.
