A spring leaf for use in a laminated spring is made from an elongate closed hollow profile. The profile may have one or two axes of symmetry and may be seamless or welded. Opposed sides (3, 4) serving in use as tension and compression sides are relatively formed and spaced in a variety of ways so as to provide constant flexural strength along the leaf.
