PURPOSE:To prevent a wire electrode from breaking without fail, by discriminat ing a gap state from a time distribution state till causing discharge generation, while controlling tension of the wire electrode according to the discriminated result. CONSTITUTION:A switching transistor 15b, which impressed voltage on a spark gap and makes a discharge current flow, is driven by a switching amplifier 16. A falling of gap voltage is detected by a detecting device 19, ad the output is inputted into a spark gap state discriminating circuit 2. This spark gap state discriminating circuit 20 discriminates a discharge state of gap, and according to this discriminated result, tension of the wire electrode 2 is controlled. |
