PURPOSE:To manufacture the thin strip excellent in the flexibility and possible to be cold rolled without necessity of the imtermediate heat treatment, by spouting the molten silicon iron including Si by 4-10% on the rotating roll, etc. CONSTITUTION:The silicon iron including 4-10% Si and less than 60% Ni or Co in case of necessity, it inserted into the tube 101 made of the fused silica being placed within the vacuum vessel 104. The silicon iron is molten by the high frequency induction heating furnace 102, and the pressurized Ar gas is supplied from A in order to spout the molten metal on the roll 103 rotating at high speed. The molten metal is quenched extremely quickly, and the thin strip 107 is formed. Besides, in case of necessity, this thin strip is heat treated at 1000 deg.C for 30 minutes; hereby, the crystal grain grows so as to form the columnar crystal grain vertically to the strip surface in the direction [110]. The thin strip can be cold rolled to a thickness 30mum without executing the intermediate heat treatment, and the thin strip of silicon iron possessing the flexibility of an extent possible to be bent by 180 degrees can be manufactured. |
