The desiliconation appts. of a molten pig iron includes an infrared radiation thermometer (11) for converting an infrared wavelength based on the temp. of the iron to an electric signal, a converter (12) for converting the electric signal to a temp. generated in the thermometer, a computer (13) for computing the input amount of the desiliconating agent, a controller (14) for controlling the input amount of the agent, and a desiliconating agent input device (15) for inputting the agent by control of the controller.
