PURPOSE:To provide an efficient sewage treating plant with the site area reduced and without the pipe and pump being clogged. CONSTITUTION:A sand basin 1, an initial settling basin 2, an aeration tank 3, a final settling basin 4 and a sterilizing basin 5 are vertically arranged in this order from the upper part in a sewage treating plant. A filter medium 11 to send water to the succeeding tank and to immobilize orgnisms is provided to the treating part 8 of the sand basin 1 and aeration tank 3 and the initial settling basin 2 and to the region where water flows out from the outlet 9 of the final settling basin 4. Sewage is discharged into the uppermost sand basin 1 from an inlet pipe 12 and flows down through the tanks by gravity. Air is mixed in the sewage in the air and in the lower treating tank, the sewage is aerated and introduced into the sterilizing basin 5, and the treated water is discharged outside the plant through an outlet pipe 16. |
