PURPOSE:To provide an electric power source device for electric dust collecting apparatuses with a high dust collecting efficiency wherein the device can deal with the case that characteristics of soot and dust change. CONSTITUTION:Conventionally, a sufficient soot and dust collecting effect cannot be obtained in the case that soot and dust have a high resistance by an electric power source device wherein the voltage of the output of a semiconductor switch 2 is elevated and the current is rectified by a high voltage transforming rectifier 4 to apply d.c. high voltage to an electric dust collecting apparatus 5. There is also a problem that it takes a long time to shut the electric power source at the time of abnormal discharge and dust collecting effect is lowered. Regarding this invention, a frequency converting apparatus 7 is installed together with the semiconductor switch 2 to overlay the voltage elevated and current rectified output of the frequency converting apparatus 7 on the voltage elevated and current rectified output out of the semiconductor switch 2, so that sufficient dust collecting effect is obtained even in the case that soot and dust have a high resistance and at the same time the time to shut the electric power source in the case of abnormal discharge is shortened and the dust collecting effect is improved. |
