A fluoroalkyl group-containing organosilicon oligomer is represented by the following formula (I) or (IV) of: <IMAGE> (I) <IMAGE> (IV) wherein R, R1, R2, X and Y each are the same or different groups and stand for an alkyl, alkoxy or alkylcarbonyloxy group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, n represents an integer of 1 to 3, m1 and m3 represent an integer of 1 to 10, m2 represents an integer of 0 to 10, m4 represents an integer of 1 to 5 and RF represents <IMAGE> where A stands for a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a chlorine atom, n1 represents an integer of 1 to 10 and n2 represents an integer of 0 to 8. A surface treating agent contains the oligomer defined by the formula (I) or (IV).
