PURPOSE:To obtain a gold-colored sintered compact having sufficiently high strength and Young's modulus and superior oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance without causing deterioration in high hardness inherent in titanium nitride. CONSTITUTION:This sintered compact is a gold-colored sintered compact which has a composition containing at least titanium, nitrogen, and boron as constituent elements and containing, by weight, 67-78% titanium, 6-15% nitrogen, and 6.5-21.0% boron. Further, carbon content is regulated to <=3wt.%. Moreover, titanium nitride and titanium boride exist as crystalline phases in this sintered compact, and a structure where the crystalline grains of the above titanium nitride are linked into chain state is formed. Further, it is desirable to substitute a part of titanium by <=10wt.% by at least one kind among the group IVa, Va, and Vla metal elements of the periodic table. |
