PURPOSE:To provide a novel compound having an aldose reductase activity and useful as a diabetic complication therapeutic medicine. CONSTITUTION:The compound of the formula (at least one of R<1>, R<2>, R<3> is H, and the remainders are alkyl, aryl, benzyl, but al l of the groups are not simultaneously H), e.g. 8,10-dicarboxy-2-methoxycarbonyl-1H-oxazo[5,4- h]pyrrolo[2,3-f]quinoline. The compound of the formula is obtained by treating the ester compound of the corresponding 2,7,9-tricarboxy-4,5-dihydro-4,5dioxo-1H- pyrrolo[2,3-flquinoline with formalin/ammonium chloride. |
