摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain beads excellent in visual recognizability as the material of, e.g. a traffic marking by covering the entire surface of a transparent bead with a transparent resin containing a dispersed wavelength exchange material such as a fluorescent dye. CONSTITUTION:The beads are prepared by dissolving a transparent resin in a solvent such as acetone or toluene, adding a wavelength exchange material such as a fluorescent dye to the solution, adding transparent beads such as glass beads to the resulting solution, covering the entire surface of each bead with the resin, and drying the beads. The figure shows a fluorescent bead. The production process comprises dissolving a transparent resin in a solvent, adding a fluorescent dye to the solution, adding glass beads 6 to the resin 5 containing the fluorescent dye, and covering the entire surface of each glass bead 6 with the resin 5 to obtain fluorescent beads 7. As the transparent resin, a polymethyl methacrylate resin, a polycarbonate resin or a polystyrene resin with specified restrictions is used. As the fluorescent dye, a special fluorescent dye (e.g Yellow 083) is used. As the transparent beads, titanium beads are used.
