PURPOSE:To fully automatically polish the surface of an aluminum shape constituting the car body of an electric railcar by rotationally driving several polishing members with the power of a driving motor and moving them up and down via a link arm or others with the operation of an opening/closing cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A polishing device to polish both sides and both face and back of a shape 6 at the same time has cylindrical polishing members 5 arranged at the upper and lower parts in crosswise symmetry, to which the power of a driving motor 3 is transmitted via a ball spline shaft 1, a belt 2 and gear lines. The upper and lower polishing members 5, 5 are moved up and down to be opened and closed via a swing gear 10 key-jointed to a transmission shaft 15 by oscillating a link arm 9 connected to one end of an opening/closing cylinder rod with the operation of an opening/closing cylinder, so that the respective polishing members 5 are put in contact with both face and back of the shape 6. A polishing unit formed in this way is freely moved in an axial direction via a guide and set at any axial position. |
