<p>PURPOSE:To provide the recording liquid giving excellent water-resistant recording images and useful for ink jet recording, etc., by adding a quaternary phosphonium hydroxide or quaternary phosphonium salt having a phenyl group to an aqueous recording liquid containing a water-soluble dyestuff. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous recording liquid comprising a water-soluble dyestuff such as a water-soluble azo dyestuff of formula I, diethylene glycol, N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone, N-hydroxyethylmorpholine, 2-propanol and desalted water is mixed with a quaternary phosphonium hydroxide or quaternary phosphonium salt having at least one phenyl group and represented by formula II (at least one, preferably three or four, of R<1>-R<4> are phenyl, and the remaining are alkyl; X is hydroxyl, halogen), etc., (e.g. tetraphenylphosphonium hydroxide) to provide the objective recording liquid giving water-resistant recording images when recorded on plain paper as an ink jet recording liquid.</p> |
