PURPOSE: To protect contents concurrently from contamination, shock, vibration, static electricity and tampering. CONSTITUTION: A reusable isolation structure 110 features an easily cleanable shell 110. An opening 90 of the shell 110 includes a groove formed over the whole inner peripheral face. A closure member (door) 112 is dimensioned to fit within the opening 90 and has a resilient seal member 113 clamped to the periphery of a backbone 124 by front and rear plates 123 and 125. A space for flattening or expanding with vacuum or pressure application the seal member has been formed inside the resilient seal member 113 and a manifold 130 communicating therewith. A vacuum structure for handling the closure member simultaneously provides for evacuation and controlled flattening of the resilient seal member as well as containing contamination of the exterior thereof.
