THROMBOLYTIC AGENT CONTAINING DIRECT THROMBIN INHIBITOR AS ACTIVE COMPONENT

PURPOSE: To provide the pharmaceutical agent which contains a direct-acting inhibitor capable of acting on the active site of thrombin and has fibrinolytic activity. CONSTITUTION: This agent contains as an active ingredient a direct-acting inhibitor of thrombin, such as argatroban, Phe-Pro-Arg chloromethyl ketone or Ac-(D-Phe)-Pro-boro-Arg-OH represented by the formula. This inhibitor shows fibrinolytic activity in the absence of any extrinsic plasminogen activator and can be used for treating diseases such as myocardial infarction, arteritis of the lower limbs, cardiac vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. The daily dose of the active substance of the agent in a suitable pharmaceutical form for intravenous administration is 10 to 500 mg.
