The invention relates to a safe structure for storing valuable goods and securities, which safe is designed in such a manner that it forms an integral part of a domestic or office environment, for example an item of kitchen furniture, without the safe being recognisable from the outside, and measures being provided to make it easy for an authorized person to approach the safe from this environment, while it is possible to move the safe after the environment has been dismantled. Safes known hitherto can be divided into two types. The first type is a freestanding safe, this type providing the necessary protection by means of its weight and size. The other type is mainly incorporated in walls or floors. Both types are associated with drawbacks, such as the lack of mobility of the safe in the event of moving house or alterations, as well as the difficulty of access to the safe, which presents an obstacle to frequent, and therefore functional, use of the safe. The safe according to the invention is integrated into an item of kitchen furniture or a wall unit, for example. This surrounding conceals the presence of the safe. Consequently, the safe is not an object which springs immediately into view. The safe is made accessible from the wall unit or item of kitchen furniture by using removable walls, fronts or drawers. With the aid of these means, the safe can be used from the item of furniture in question. The safe is anchored on or in the vicinity of its surroundings, in this case the item of kitchen furniture. This method of attachment makes it difficult to remove the safe from its surroundings. By contrast, it is easy to move the safe according to the invention after the wall unit or item of kitchen furniture has been moved.
