The shoe has a lining 7 which is water-tight but allows water vapour to pass through, a first insole 9, and a second insole 12 provided with a rib 13. Between the first and second insoles there is a water-tight membrane 17 which allows water vapour to pass through and which is firmly glued to the insoles. A horizontal stitch 15 joins the side edges 3' of the shoe uppers and the rib 13 of the second insole between the walls of a channel-shaped enclosure 5, the lower surface 6 of the enclosure being glued to the upper surface of the outsole 6. The lining 7 consists of a laminate of a textile material and a water- tight but still water-vapour-permeable membrane of a copolyether ester consisting of a plurality of repeated straight-chain and long-chain ester groups and short- chain ester groups, the front end and last end of the various ester groups being randomly connected to each other by means of ester bonds. <IMAGE>
