A plurality of objects (1, 3) moving collectively along a direction of travel (6) are each provided with a tag (2). A detector has an antenna (4) for detecting the presence of the tag along a detection zone (5) at an angle to the direction of travel (6). The objects (1, 3) are arranged so that the tags (2) are aligned. By aligning the tags (2) at a different angle to that of the detection zone (5) the tags (2) enter the detection zone (5), and are read at different times thus avoiding more than one being read at any given time. <IMAGE> |
