The pivot arm (3, 4) is articulated, at its rear end, on the underside of the ceiling of a niche, of a balcony, etc. and, further towards the front, is guided over a supporting crossmember (5) which is fastened on the floor, at a distance therefrom. The sunshade (10) is suspended from a hook (9). By telescopic extension and pivoting of the arm (3 and 4), the sunshade (10), following the position of the sun, can be readily moved into any positions. When the sunshade is removed, one part (3) of the pivot arm can be pushed into the other part (4). <IMAGE>
