PURPOSE:To reduce a cost and a size by eliminating a speed change of a brushless motor. CONSTITUTION:The method for controlling an air conditioner comprises the steps of converting an AC power source 3 to a DC voltage via first, second power source circuits 4, 8, inputting it to first, second driving circuits 5, 10, converting it to an AC voltage, and supplying it to an induction motor 1 and a brushless motor 2. The method further comprises the steps of inputting a signal from rotor position detecting means of the motor 2 to a microcomputer 14, thereby generating a second drive signal for turning ON transistors of the circuit 10, chopping an ON part of the drive signal for turning ON a transistor of one arm of upper and lower arms of the circuit 10, and outputting a second drive signal for variably controlling ON/OFF ratio, thereby controlling a rotation of the motor 2. The method further comprises the steps of outputting a first drive signal for turning ON/OFF transistors of the first driving circuit to control the rotation of the motor 1, thereby controlling the conditioner. |
