<p>PURPOSE:To reduce mis-detection of a motion due to high frequency noise by detecting a motion with high accuracy to suppress after-image or fog to the utmost in a noise reduction circuit. CONSTITUTION:A noise reduction device is made up of a cyclic filter having a frame memory 104 delaying an input video signal by one frame. In this noise reduction device, an input video signal 101 with noise superimposed thereon is given to a 2-dimension low pass filter 108, in which the high frequency noise is reduced and a subtractor 106 is used to take a difference of the video signal of a preceding frame stored in the frame memory 104 in which the noise is reduced. Then a motion still discrimination circuit 107 compares the difference with a threshold level to discriminate a motion or a still signal.</p> |
